Selected Readings中文

About this edition

A reading edition of the 135 pieces collected in the two volumes — with the official English text, provenance, occasion and dates.

Editorial rules

This site reproduces the published text and adds nothing to it. No sentence is rewritten, abridged, reordered or re-titled.

The English text is taken from the official English edition, *Selected Readings from the Works of Xi Jinping* (Foreign Languages Press, 2024), as released piece by piece by Qiushi English. It is not a translation made by this site.

Where the official English text has not yet been published for a piece, the page says so and links to the Chinese original rather than supplying a translation.

Titles for those pieces are working titles by this site and are labelled as such. They are metadata for navigation, not translations of the text.

Sources and citation

Each piece records the date it was given, the occasion, the volume and the piece number it occupies, and a link to the published source.

A ready-made citation is provided on each piece page and can be copied with one button. It names the book, the volume, the piece number, the date and the source.

The Chinese text is based on the column published by 12371.cn (Communist Party Members Network). Where the base text records only a publication date rather than the date of the work itself, the difference is stated on the piece.

Structure

135 pieces in two volumes: Volume I, 66 pieces; Volume II, 69 pieces.

The numbering follows the order of the base text. Each volume opens with a party congress report.

The English text has been published by the official edition for 117 of the 135 pieces; the remaining 18 are marked on their pages.

Editions and scripts

Chinese edition: the two-volume official print edition (People's Publishing House, April 2023).

English edition: *Selected Readings from the Works of Xi Jinping*, two volumes (Foreign Languages Press, March 2024).

The Chinese text on this site follows the 12371.cn column, a 135-piece selection; the printed edition carries 146 pieces. The difference is between the web column and the printed book, not between the Chinese and English editions.

How to read this site

Start with the Contents for the full list in volume order, or with Themes for the eleven recurring subjects and the pieces that carry them.

Every piece page carries its own citation and a link to the source.

The People page covers the names the text cites; the Timeline gives the dated events that frame the collection.

A search index for the English text is not yet built; the Chinese edition of this site has one.
